Four Area Players Hit 1,000 Career Points
1/26/10 -Some history was made last night as 4 area players reached the 1000 point plateau, with 2 being from the same school.
Paramus Catholic’s Rae Corbo and Andre Blackwood joined an elite list of PC players headed by Anne Donovan to reach that mark. It is believed to be the first time in PC history and maybe Bergen County history that two players from the same school have reached 1000 points in the same night.
Hackensack's Jackie Marshall drained the first of her 5 three-pointers, becoming the third Comet to reach 1000 points. Her cousin Rasheema Smith was the first. How about that for “All in the Family”.
Cristina DeCarvalho Wood-Ridge joined the 1000 point club hitting hers in a 52-19 romp of Hasbrouck Heights.
This appears to be the first time this has ever happened in Bergen County. You would have to dig deep into the record books to dispute this. If anyone can verify or dispute this, email me at mrmet15@yahoo.com.
