In the pre-game voting Colts Neck wasn’t given a chance to beat Shabazz being outvoted 23-10, while St John Vianney was voted to defeat Paterson Catholic by the same margin 23-10.
With Colts Neck upending the defending Champion, one thing is definite, we will have a new NJSIAA/Shop Rite TOC Champion on Monday night sometime around 8pm.
Colts Neck (27-4) handed Shabazz (30-1)their first loss of the season at the worst possible time. Holding a 38-36 lead after 3 quarters, Colts Neck outscored Shabazz 20-12 in the 4th to seal the win 58-48. Lauren Clarke and Brooke Hampton combined for 39 points for Colts Neck
Paterson Catholic (15-2) fell behind St John Vianney (27-2) early but rallied in the second quarter to knot the game at 33-33. But Paterson Catholic was outscored in the third and fourth periods 39-19 and lost 72-52. Freshman Michaela Mabrey led all scorers with a career-high 23 points and fellow reserve Teresa Manigrasso chipped in with 13 points for St. John Vianney,
